So, this was it: my last phone call to my parents before they go on holiday and before I face my new big adventure this year.
This year I’m going to spend my holiday on a ship….no leisure sailing trip, no cruise ship…nooooooo…… I’m going to spend four weeks on a container freight ship. Kind of special, I know, but that’s just my kind of thing to do 😉
I don’t even know the exact sailing date, I just know two weeks from now, most likely I will be on my first big boat trip – and hopefully not the last.
The thing that bothers me the most is: I can’t get away…. usually my holiday is the kind of thing where I can always leave if… I don’t like the place I’m staying or I don’t like the people I’m surrounded by or if I just want to move on….well, not this time. I’m stuck there, no matter what. What if people are getting on my nerves, what if I can’t sleep because of the noisy engines (or neighbours), the waves or what not…? I guess that’s the adventure about it that you don’t know what to expect.
So, I try to prepare for the unknown and we’ll see what happens 😉
