As always in traveller’s life plans change within hours – or minutes…. so, after I couldn’t find tickets for the formula 1 race and the cancellation of my car ride to Montreal, I decided to head to another farm.
Since I was already fed up with tourist attractions I decided to work off some of the calories which had added up to a good 2 kg plus of body weight. A bike rental at the local bike shop would have cost me nice 40 bucks for the day, that’s why I asked at the hostel reception if the bikes in the backyards of the house are for rental. Apparently, there didn’t ask too many people before because I got a bike (after only 2 hours of waiting) for ridiculous 10 Dollars (per day!!! 🙂 ).
Since Julia’s foot was still hurting a lot we spend most of the day at the Complexe Desjardin, a big shopping and office centre where also a medical clinic is located.
Due to the fact that it was still hot, I kept up my routine and took Julia with me to the park.
We stayed there until late afternoon, talking and playing some strange game of dice, and then I had a telephone date with Michaela…hi there :-)) (I know she’ll be reading this 🙂 ).
We talked a bit (somewhat 2 hours???) and afterwards I went to dinner with Julia and Caroline, a friend of Julia from Quebec who had two job interviews in Montreal.
The two other girls went to ‚Sex and the City 2‘ – yeah, Julia, I know it’s your Montreal highlight *g* while I returned to the hostel and did probably something 😉
On Tuesday I obviously had to call my dad – because it was his birthday. By the time we ended the call it was already 11AM. So, it was a good time to go into the park. After the long weekend it was also not so crowded any more. Suppose other people have to work and I hoped for all of them that they had air conditioning in the office, since the temperatures went up to 33°C (at least).
At 3PM I had enough of doing nothing and returned to the hostel, doing more of nothing…ah actually I got some English guy showing me pictures of Ottawa and Kingston….well maybe I should go to Kingston after all… 😉
Very much later Julia arrived – in a three layer Jack Wolfskin jacked and absolutely drenched in sweat (we still had around 30°C in the evening). So we talked a bit and went to dinner to a pizza place up on St-Hubert where two Morrocan guys make fantastic pizza and burgers – but don’t eat the fries there….!!!!!
Today was a very rare highlight since I’ve done close to nothing. Got up at about 8AM for a nice „continental“ breakfast (strawberry jam, butter on toast, 2 glasses of orange juice and a cinnamon muffin). After some internet time…off to the Fountain Park, lying in the shade for 2-3 hours and doing just nothing.
