Being on the road again felt awkward at the beginning but for my first stop at the Newman House in Saint John everything was organized: the taxi was ordered (and cancelled again after Saskia and Claude insisted on bringing me to the ferry), the hostel was booked and I even arranged that Sharon, the hostel owner, picked me up at the ferry.
The flight from Vancouver via Toronto to Halifax wasn’t particularly eventful, except that I sat next to Matthias from Munich on the first leg, who was flying back home from Toronto, and therefore I didn’t get to continue reading my exciting book ;).
Alaska isn’t exactly around the corner—not even from Canada—so I spent another 24 hours on the bus to Prince Rupert, which is still in Canada but close to Alaska.
Since I couldn’t make up my mind where to travel on Vancouver Island – and most of the hostels were already fully booked but with a very urgent surge to leave, I decided on Monday, 10 o’clock in the morning that I would be leaving on the bus at 12:50 PM right back to Vancouver and surprise a few people there.
