Hills on the left, hills on the right – and I’m just cycling downhill 🙂

What a beautiful day / ride

I started early, around 8 AM, because it was suppose to get warm again. I started off through the beautiful forest of the Pfaelzer Wald and the whole first ten kilometers were going downhill on a beautiful smooth cycling road.

  • Rocks and trees: Dahn

Today I went on the Felsenpfad (=rock trail) around Dahn, actually I did only half of the trail since I needed already three hours for the six kilometers of the first half. The reason? Beauty and curiosity and photo motifs everywhere and walking barefoot for a while and taking it easy and….

  • Mixed conditions but such a nice cycling day: Bierbach to Dahn

After the breakfast at the a little weird guest house (and the tiniest room I stayed in), I started into a beautiful morning: it was already warm and all the tourists were still asleep or at least not on the road ;-).

  • Nice and easy along the border: From Trier to Perl

Luxembourg on the other side of the Mosel

I was cycling all day along the Mosel which is the border to Luxembourg but never touched foreign soil. But we went shopping for food on the day before in Wasserbillig which is in Luxembourg.

  • After the rain follows the sun: From Koblenz to Cochem

Sunday morning was the exact opposite from the day before: despite the noise inside and outside the hotel, I woke up refreshed and in a super relaxed mood.

After breakfast, I packed up my things and wanted to get on the road. But just before I got going, it started to rain – and not only a little. So I put on my rain gear before I cycled to the Deutsche Eck, the point in Koblenz where the Mosel runs into the Rhine river and where the Mosel cycling path starts.

  • Bad cycling day: Remagen to Koblenz

Download GPX track (Remagen to Andernach)

Yesterday was one of the worst days since I started cycling. I thought already in the morning about taking the train to my parents and take a loooooooooooooong break from cycling. There was no specific reason, just a bad day. I thought I would quickly cycle to Koblenz and decide then what I would do.
