On Monday, I went to another bike shop in Nuremberg, just when they opened at 8 AM. Unfortunately, afterwards my bike was more broken than before since the Edgar (=navigation device) holder got broken in the process.

The heat is over, so the preparations can begin: excursion to Oehringen
I used the first cooler day to cycle to the small town Oehringen with it’s huge palace garden.

A beautiful day It was a beautiful day, the apple and plum trees are (almost) ready for harvesting and I enjoyed the time being out and about again. In the end, the „not so hot“ day, turned into „still pretty warm“ (around 26°C or maybe even a bit warmer) and I was quite happy to be home for a cool shower 🙂

Back in the water….my Total Immersion swim story
Summer time Today, I’m already two weeks back at my parents‘ place and the whole time it had been hot like the kind of summer everybody wishes for in wintertime 😉 Therefore, it was also too hot to continue my cycling adventure through Germany.
To keep me at least a little busy, I have some dentist’s appointments lined up with some repairs which were due anyway this year.
Last Tuesday, I had my root channel filling renewed and was more or less out of order for the following two days.
But on Saturday morning, I went to our lake around the corner, the Starkholzbacher See, with my parents and was instantly hooked again.

Four rivers in one day: Bad Mergentheim to Schwaebisch Hall
Another sunny summer’s day To be honest, I don’t remember much from the last stint of my „many-rivers-tour“:
I started off pretty early because the weather forecast promised another hot day.Initially, I planned after leaving the first little „river“ (it’s more like a stream), the Wachbach, to just cycle comfortably along the Tauber until Rothenburg ob der Tauber since I wanted to visit the city for a long time. There is a bit of a complicated story involved since Rothenburg used to be „our“ archenemy when our American Football teams were in the same league some years back. Therefore, I was in Rothenburg only once and only in the stadium to defeat the foe 😉

Beautiful training ride to the Einkorn
Today I cycled my old training route from Schwaebisch Hall via Gaildorf and the old coal road to the Einkorn back home.
I started right after the rain and it was just beautiful to watch the water evaporate from the forest.
I would have loved to stop every other minute to take a picture BUT I had to be back for lunch time, so I didn’t take too many breaks 😉
So – „unfortunately“, you have to come here in person to see the whole beauty 🙂
In case, you’re wondering about the strange picture format: today I had only my phone with me and not my camera.
Also the route parameters are, once again, calculated by OpenStreetMaps and don’t really seem realistic to me – just subtract generously and it’s probably correct 😉

Heilbronn to Schwaebisch Hall: off to summer break
Thursday was another holiday and another predicted hot day with thunderstorms and heavy rains predicted for later in the day. Consequence for me: another early start. This time I was on the road already at 7 AM!!! and it was already warm.
Since it was a holiday, almost nobody was on the streets and I found my way easily out of Heilbronn.

News!
Today there is some news!!
First of all: I’m officially blue…..unfortunately I had to delete the pictures of me because they all looked stupid…but I have a picture of the final result:
tool shed after my paint job 🙂 And of course I got lots of paint on my previously clean body, too 🙂 Ha, ha,… 🙂THEN:I finally got the stuff and the number for the bike marathon in Daun….. and it’s only 10 days to go!!!!!
And my body is already preparing for this event, too – unfortunately without asking permission.
I try to convince myself that this is some self-cleaning function I haven’t been aware of until now:
for the last two days everything I’ve been eating turns into liquid…..really strange….and NO, it’s not nerves – not yet :-P. It might be the water I drank from a stream three days ago but I refuse to believe that our clean German stream water is not drinkable!!!
So, I stick with the self-cleaning theory and hope that my body is clean enough soon. I obviously don’t need any more weight reduction otherwise I’m going to be blown off my bike by the start signal next week.This is what hopefully helps to get my body back on track:
I haven’t tried that stuff before, therefore: keep your fingers crossed!!!

I guess due to summer vacation there are not much offers at the job market right now. I sent out another application the day before yesterday but that’s about it.
