Yesterday was the day, on which I would usually have given up my whole „cycling through Germany“ adventure.
If you’re interested what happened and why I’m still on tour, keep on reading 😉
I would never have thought that Bavaria can be that flat but today the route was absolutely flat – or going a little downhill….what a great start into my way back to the North 🙂
(mehr …)On Monday, I went to another bike shop in Nuremberg, just when they opened at 8 AM. Unfortunately, afterwards my bike was more broken than before since the Edgar (=navigation device) holder got broken in the process.
Initially, I wanted to use the title „Let it roll…“ for this post but along the way, I found out that even when a route looks rather flat on an elevation profile that doesn’t mean that the route is actually flat and even if it looks like going downhill, it doesn’t mean that it feels like it.
(mehr …)Today, I started my way back to the North.
For the first time, I felt more scared than thrilled, for no particular reason…or maybe I already sensed that I put a little much on my plate for the first day:
(mehr …)I used the first cooler day to cycle to the small town Oehringen with it’s huge palace garden.

It was a beautiful day, the apple and plum trees are (almost) ready for harvesting and I enjoyed the time being out and about again. In the end, the „not so hot“ day, turned into „still pretty warm“ (around 26°C or maybe even a bit warmer) and I was quite happy to be home for a cool shower 🙂
After a hot day in the city of Wuerzburg, with visits to the residence and the stronghold, and some awesome food at the Brueckenbaeck, it was time for some work again.
Unfortunately, the club downstairs from the flat I was staying, held a Monday night party which lasted until 5 in the morning and which kept me from sleeping – and left me fuming – until 4 AM.
So, instead of an early refreshed start, I started late and sleep deprived into one of the hillier stints of my trip.
