Hello and welcome to my page 🙂

I’m Katrin and I used to travel a lot in my 30ies.
Currently (2026), I’m working on including all my old travel blogs to keep all these good memories alive.

I’m also adding some new things, e.g. DIY recipes and content about my current photography and sports activities.
So you’ll find a pretty colourful mixture here 🙂
And maybe there’s something interesting in there for you as well.

Mixed conditions but such a nice cycling day: Bierbach to Dahn

After the breakfast at the a little weird guest house (and the tiniest room I stayed in), I started into a beautiful morning: it was already warm and all the tourists were still asleep or at least not on the road ;-).

Quick trip: From Saarbruecken to Blieskastel

Bye, bye, Saar

Today, I already left the Saar again and cycled East towards the Pfaelzer Wald (= forest). I also cycled the shortest stint of my tour (about 32 km) – and I found a new app (more precisely, Dieter did), Naviki, which seems to work better than the one I used before. Let’s see 🙂

Excursion to hilly France: Perl to Saarbrücken

The weather was predicted to be sunny and warm, so I started early, around 8:30 AM.

First, I cycled down all the way to the Mosel again and after just a few meters, I was already in France. There was no sign for the border but the “Moselradweg” sign was suddenly in French: “Chemin de la Mosel” 🙂

I was cycling all day along the Mosel which is the border to Luxembourg but never touched foreign soil. But we went shopping for food on the day before in Wasserbillig which is in Luxembourg.

Despite the very nice room and a delicious breakfast, my bad mood was back (maybe I was sensing the bad weather already). I also had to do some shopping and it took some contemplating on which side of the Mosel I wanted to continue, so I started relatively late.
