Hello and welcome to my page 🙂

I’m Katrin and I used to travel a lot in my 30ies.
Currently (2026), I’m working on including all my old travel blogs to keep all these good memories alive.

I’m also adding some new things, e.g. DIY recipes and content about my current photography and sports activities.
So you’ll find a pretty colourful mixture here 🙂
And maybe there’s something interesting in there for you as well.

Introduction to my new temporary home: Tour around Kluetz

Today, Sven showed me the surroundings of Kluetz, including the beautiful Schloss Bothmer where, in summer, often classical concerts take place and the Maeuseturm (=tower of mice)

Cycling against the wind… Test ride from Luebeck to Kluetz

One week before I move out and two to three weeks before the scheduled start of my trip, I did my first test ride with about half my luggage (some normal clothes in my bikepacking bag and my handle bar for wallet, camera, phone,…).

2 weeks before take off – fear of the unknown

It’s only one week before I move out of my apartment and two weeks until my planned start of my tour.

Currently, it is way too cold (for me) to cycle with daytime temperatures around 0°C + (a lot) wind chill leading to felt air temperatures around -5 – -10°C….brrrrrrrrrrrrr….this morning I cycled for 30 minutes to the public order office and afterwards 30 minutes back – and it just wasn’t any fun….

4 weeks before take off – letting go

My oh my, how time flies….again two weeks have passed since my last post….

The past two weeks not a lot happened due to exceptional cold weather: -10°C during the day is something we don’t experience here very often, so not a lot is happening outside.
