….so, I got myself a new flight today after Michaela told me yesterday that I could be in trouble if I didn’t use the first leg in my booked Germany – Canada – Germany return flight package.
Well, I had a look at the general businness terms of BA and I was in trouble: if you don’t show up for your first flight they automatically cancel your return flight as well – NICE!!! I was on the phone with the airline and the travel agency last night because I was supposed to be on the plane from Frankfurt to London at 7 AM (German time).
So, the result is: I have to pay 150 Euro for not flying and was left without a flight home as well.
Fortunately, I found a new flight (this time one-way from Vancouver to Frankfurt) for only 744 Dollars on New Years Eve. That’s gonna be interesting: New Years Eve on a plane. Yeah!
All the trouble wouldn’t have taken place if one-way tickets would be cheaper as return flights as I would expect anyway….. The lesson I learnt from this: if you want to book a return flight instead of a one-way ticket: use the first flight and just don’t show up for the flight back.
Yes, I know it’s logical but I didn’t know that there is such a big difference if you try to do it the other way round….well, another lesson learnt.
Besides I cancelled my monthly rate plan for my cell phone and got a job offer for the summer at my daily lunch pizza joint….yeah :-))
I also put an ad onto Craigs list for my almost brand new Hugo-Boss coat which I got from the thrift shop just two weeks ago and which is not really windproof (who needs a winter coat which is not warm????) but no reaction so far. Maybe 60 Dollars is too much…. but I paid 69 and wore it only once….
Otherwise there is no news from the job besides that I count the hours every day and think about three hours a day about quitting immediately but nothing serious otherwise 😉
I would suggest to do a scientific survey if the exposition to Christmas music for more than four hours a day continuosly increases the tendency towards restlessness and unprovoked aggressivness and could therefore be regarded as torture ;). Is anybody interested?
