Today was a very rare highlight since I’ve done close to nothing.
Got up at about 8AM for a nice „continental“ breakfast (strawberry jam, butter on toast, 2 glasses of orange juice and a cinnamon muffin). After some internet time…off to the Fountain Park, lying in the shade for 2-3 hours and doing just nothing.

23rd May: Day at LaRonde
On Sunday despite the weather forecasts the sun was shining brightly from a blue and cloudless sky and it was already about 25°C at 10 o’clock.
Since I was moving to the Montreal Centrale Backpacker I had to pack my stuff again and roll it down the hill, almost to the bus station (in fact the bus station is adjoining the back of the hostel) where I checked in and waited for Monika and finally met her at the bus station.
We took the metro out to the Sainte-Hélène Island and took the shuttle bus to the entrance. -

Wednesday I spent with writing blog entries, sorting and uploading photos. And tried to figure out what to do next….
For dinner, Robbin and me went to a pub watching Montreal win their match against Pittsburgh….veeeeeeeeeeeeeeery nice and the burger was fantastic there!!!! 🙂 -

11th May: Excursion to Niagara Falls
On Tuesday I took the obligatory trip to the Niagara Falls with the two other German girls from Clarence Castle (Sindy and Julia), Martina and her boyfriend.
We took the bus at 11:30 and arrived at Niagara-on-the-Falls at around 13:30. We walked the 5kms to the falls and the weather was…well…. Canadian like (rainy, windy) and too cold for the season 😉 After about 30 minutes we saw the big steel bridge (the boarder to the U.S. of A.) and some kind of waterfall behind (as we should later see it was the American Falls). So we kept on walking and took some pictures on the way.
