Around the inner Lake Schwerin

After more than half a year without cycling and without sports – more or less – today, I finally got back onto my bike.

During the last months, I moved to Schwerin, in the heart of Mecklenburg Western-Pomerania, and I’m back at my old job at the CTU, basically home office athlete and data juggler.

I was missing being on the road (a lot) but today’s trip didn’t really live up to my expectations: and remembered me of some things which I didn’t really miss so much 😉

Today’s route was a route called T10 which leads around the smaller part of lake Schwerin. I found it in a tourist booklet with tips of what to do around Schwerin and I thought it’s a good way to get to know the area a bit.

But instead of seeing the lake and interesting sights, the things I saw the most where long roads I cycled along and lots of fields on the left and lots of fields on the right side. Which was not so special. And yes, for the first 5-6 k I did cycle alongside the lake and had some amazing views onto the fog on lake. At least something to take some pictures of 😉

But in general I was a bit disappointed.

Additionally to the not so exciting route, the fog wouldn’t lift and despite the fog – usually a guarantee for calm weather – there was a cool wind coming from the lake. So I was bored, cool and completely out of shape. Not the best combination 😉 So there is a lot which can be better next time which hopefully is sooner than in 6 months 😉

Some forest could also be found
