On Monday, I went to another bike shop in Nuremberg, just when they opened at 8 AM. Unfortunately, afterwards my bike was more broken than before since the Edgar (=navigation device) holder got broken in the process.
Because of this and because I also didn’t feel so well – and additionally I had to get some things done, I decided to head back to my parents‘ place once more. This time I took the train which was distinctly faster than the trip by bike 😉
I arrived at my parents‘ house just in time for lunch and took my mother by surprise who arrived there same time I did.
In the afternoon I got my things done and my dad lathed a brand new fastener for Edgar…pretty awesome….which, unfortunately, didn’t fix the main problem.
That’s why on Tuesday morning, I headed to our local bike shop and finally got a „real“ repair, including an additional spacer and a new longer screw and some good advice to get myself a new bike in the nearer future – and everything for free….THANKS A LOT, MHW!!!
On the way to the bike shop I quickly rode up our backyard mountain to exercise a bit for the upcoming mountains in Thuringia.
Today, I took the same route (see gps-track below) and also took some of my luggage with me to have at least resembling conditions to the trip lying ahead. It went quite well but when I think that the uphill I’m planning to take offers 100 additional meters in elevation I’m reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeally curious how this is going to be.
If everything goes according to plan, this long uphill is on the agenda for Sunday.
So stay tuned 😉
