I used the first cooler day to cycle to the small town Oehringen with it’s huge palace garden.

Admittedly, this is one of the most uninspired and boring posts I ever published. But currently I just don’t feel like writing and still have to write something, so that I won’t forget….

Actually I wanted to write an inflammatory speech about wearing bike helmets although I, myself, don’t like them at all.

The reason to write about this is that shortly before I arrived back home, I watched a woman cycling against a traffic light post because she was momentarily distracted and I had to witness how she would have crashed her head hard against the ground if she hadn’t been wearing a bike helmet – and she wasn’t cycling fast at all. Because she was wearing a helmet she stood up completely unhurt. A similar thing happened to me three years ago when I cycled on an iced up road – with only a woolen hat – when my bike slided away right under me and I hit the ground. I was lucky to have had the hat but I still suffered from headaches and neck pain for weeks. So WEAR A HELMET when you cycle,!!!!

The second thing I want me to remember is that I’m quite a bit proud of myself to have completed this hilly route in my current holiday mode and despite feeling sooooooooooo tired at the first hill and after only 5 kilometers 🙂

And the third important thing to remember is that this was my first test ride with my new navigation device which I called – for not particular reason but in remembrance of Edgar Wallace – Edgar xD
OK, maybe at the back of the mind I’m sensing that Edgar is going to witness and document a number of crime stories 😀
since I was using Edgar only for tracking and not for navigating we went along pretty well so far.
