Breakfast at the hotel Sonne (=sun) started early, so I was on my bike already shortly after 8 AM. I cycled the way along the Neckar which I had taken the day before by foot to Bad Wimpfen.
The temperatures were comfortable and so I cycled along the river and had a wonderful view onto the castles which are located on the heights on the left and on the right of the river bank.
For my lunch break I stopped in Eberbach for a huge pizza and then took the final 10 k to Hirschhorn in Hessia under my wheels.
It felt fantastic to have achieved the goal of my trip (federal state number 9: Hessia) already on my third day of cycling.
I arrived shortly before 2 PM, when the tourist information opens, in Hirschhorn and got a room in the best (?) hotel in town, the Krone. The owner emphasized the quality of their kitchen which is regional, fresh and „different“.
Unfortunately, even after my walk through town and up to the castle (of course), I was still full from my pizza and therefore had only a big salad at the Kartoffelhaus, the restaurant of hotel Krone.
It was really nice and fresh….but not as extravagant as I would have expected 😉
Nevertheless, I had a really wonderful room and working internet (!!!), so I was a happy cyclist anyway 🙂
