On Thursday Caroline showed us around in Montreal.
We started at the old Montreal and the waterfront, visited some souvenir shops and had a very sweet cupcake for lunch.

Then we went up St.Laurent, passing the Plateau until we arrived at Mile End where there’s supposed to be Canada’s best bagel shop. I got a bagel for free since I was – according to the owner – too slow to pay. Alright, there are some advantages in not being fastest duck in the pond… 😉
We also had to take some pictures with the owner and the two guys who are working there.
We ate our bagels in one of the two bars which are supposed to have the best coffeee in town…. since I don’t drink coffee I can’t neither confirm nor deny that. I had apple juice out of a plastic bottle which was alright….
We went back to the hostel, passing the hostel I was supposed to stay the next three nights. After I had taken a look I decided not to stay there and to look for something different (which is a pretty stupid idea on a weekend since all hostels are booked out days in advance…).
We went back and I was lucky to get a bed (for one night) in Montreal Centrale – even in the same room as before for only 33 Dollars…. so I checked in again…
Caroline went back to Quebec and Julia and I went to the Morrocan guys to get some niiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiice pizza for dinner.
Then I tried to organize a bed for the next night by posting a request on the couchsurfing homepage for last minutes requests. And got a reply within the first 30 minutes.
So, I went out with Julia to the Pub Quartier Latin for some nice drinks. Everything went well until Julia decided to use the washroom, she overlooked a step and twisted her foot.
We instantly put ice on it and it didn’t swell a lot but obviously it still hurt like hell.
So, the way back to the hostel was far longer than the way to the bar.
We even got invited to take a seat for some time from totally strangers. Back at the hostel more ice and the huuuuuuuuuuuuuge hope that on the next day everything would be back to normal.
