On Sunday Sindy, Julia and I rented some bikes of the hostel and did a trip to Toronto Islands.
When we started at shortly after eleven it was still freezing cold (2-3 degrees with an icy wind) and when we got to the ferry my hands were already blue (ok, I’m exaggerating here – but only a bit).
The good thing about it was that we had most of the beaches for ourselves and could take our time in creating jump pictures and had a looooooooooot of fun 🙂
We also met Toby, the cat, who hunted ducks and gulls on the beach. After some time even the sun was coming out (that is where I got my face burned – I guess 😉 ).
We cycled through the small amusement park which is also located on the island and through the marina where I was attacked by a Canada goose.
I assume I was getting to close to her nest. Unfortunately, there don’t exist pictures because I think it must have looked incredibly funny:
Katrin cycling along the pier with a wild goose attached to the back of her head. I became only a bit panicky and hysteric when I thought some plane was taking off right behind me…
When I turned around and surrendered the goose luckily stopped her attack and nobody got injured….
So we proceeded our journey visiting the „beach with optional clothing“ but there was no one but us and a single lonesome shoe lying in the sand – and a coconut wherever that came from…
The last bit to the ferry happened in a bit of a hurry and we literally made it in the last minute.
On the way back to the hostel we did some serious food shopping where I also acquired Haegen Daz ice cream which was on offer and some pineapples without taking into account that I would be leaving the next day.
So I had some spoons in the evening and all the rest ended as free food for everybody….
In the evening the obligatory hockey game was on TV and after that most of the people disappeared very sudden into their bedrooms – must have been an exhausting weekend 😉
Here are the pictures of the day:
